singapore i'm in love

finally, i finished my page for MWL's national day scrapbook contest!
this layout theme had been sitting in my mind for quite a long time, i always wish to scrap a page about Singapore in specific, as SG is where i met my dbf and where we spend our great times :)

but my process of scrapping has been inspired by several things, let me jot them down 1 by 1

started with the attractive your singapore logo that inspired the "base" of my layout.. i remember the time when the campaign took place, i was so excited everytime i saw another  fun & catchy advertisement at the bus stop, or anywhere..

and then, these 2 great LOs from the super talented kelly purkey really blown me away.. when i firstly saw the US map layout, i promised myself that i will scraplift this with SG map.. before i made it, MWL came out with this contest and the tutorial of making these 2 map pages was posted.. oh how i wish i could scraplift every single page of hers.. hahahaha... i'm a big fans of KP! :)

when i confused about the title, suddenly i remember an old movie from my home country: "eiffel, i'm in love".. a romantic comedy played with some teenagers.. a good one though
and here comes my layout..
the toughest part was in picking photos, as i have so many photos taken in many part of SG :) in our spare time (which is not so much), we usually tried to visit a place that we never visited before.. like the museums, new shopping centres, from east coast to west coast..
i enjoy the process of seeking matched pictures as the embellishments.. but the most enjoyable part was the process of connecting photos to the main map with twine :)

i decided to use my blue chalkboard tattered angels mist as water color to "frame" the SG map.. surprisingly, it turned that this blue frame looks like the sea water in the map ;) i use the same way to create a base to my title :) it's thickers from AC. the "heart felt sticker", again, is a giveaway gift from the lovely jeanette :)
i'm happy that i can make use of my patterned paper stash in a good way :) and the background is from scenic route, a brand that was discontinued before i started practicing this hobby.. i really love SR's background paper, i wish i bought more papers.. look, that light blue grid make my page looks more like a map :)

thank you for dropping by :) i hope u enjoy ur time here..

take care & God bless!

some AC projects to share

i made some american crafts projects about 1 month ago :) 2 layouts and 1 "notice board" that i'm going to share here :) the photos were taken from my last bali trip on may.. still have some more photos to be scrap.. oh how i wish i can just sit down & scrap all day.. hahahaha..

first layout: "bubye bali"

i use the margarita collection here, some chipboard stash & beach theme stickers for journaling, all from american crafts. 1 flower embellishment from jollee's collection :)
when i realised that i don't have any alpha sticker that can match nicely here, i came across a vintage postcard.. that's how the title work came about :) as i'm a photoshop illiterate, i only use power point & word art here ;)

PS: i join AC's facebook challenge (vacation theme), if u don't mind, please help to "like" my layout :)

second layout: "day & night"

i use peachy keen for the page frame & flowers, dear lizzy on the die cut (finally i have some gut to cut this beautiful die cut paper),  sticker, chipboard frames & elements (AC old stash) & thickers :) the journaling is hidden inside the self made envelope

a card: i love u

i'm not really a card maker.. luckily, i have this felt heart sticker from jeanette's giveaway. check out her blog, and u'll be inspired by so many gorgeous projects there ;)

last project: the notice board

i bought this from daiso from the cooking utensils section, but i'm not really sure what is the real purpose of this stuff ;) what came into my mind when i saw this is to turn this into a notice board.. where i can hang my recent photos, notes, this & that.. i use my AC stash here.. can u see the peachy keen flowers in the tiny clothe's pin? i love peachy keen so much!! :)

well, that's all i have for now. thanks for dropping by, hopefully u enjoy ur visit here :)

take care & God bless :)

i love my sunday school kids :)

this time, i scrap a picture without me & my dbf :) quite rare, but i really love these pics!
this was my sunday school class last year, they were K2 & P1 (kindergarten 2 & primary 1) students in their school, some of them are still in my class this year, some have moved to another class. my class name is "favorable" class!

despite of all the craziness, i love them all! so sad that cici dewi had to left singapore for good.. i really miss her :( it was really a huge blessing for me to had a chance for teaching in a same class with here :) she's not just another pretty girl, she's really a great teacher, great actress, great photographer as well.. her husband is really one blessed lucky guy!

i made this LO for the grid challenge in the october afternoon blog :)
i had so much fun arranging the squares and finally decided to paste them this way
after watching some shimelle's video tutorials, i give myself a try, to use paint in my page :)
i was so scared to try.. but it was so fun! :) thanks to her! ;)

well here's the final page looks like

F-joel, A-samuel, V-daniel josea (jojo), O-keishya, R-kezia, A-jocelyn, B-derryl, L-lleyton, E-cici dewi :)

all patterned papers and the die cut background are from october afternoon. i decided to use my stash, i had so many of them from the "box sale" i bought last christmas.. the yellow paint is from adirondrack dabber, yellow sunshine. i also use 2 "journaling stickers" from OA and some pieces of rub-ons, the "2010" and the circle framing the apple on the top. the dream big sticker is 7 gypsies' 97%, love those stickers!!

well i think that's all for now.. thanks so much for dropping by.. hope you enjoy ur time here :)

take care & God bless :)

christmas is love :)

it's been a loong time since i posted my last layout ;)
again, i've been unintentionally neglected my blog..

i want to share my christmas layout :) the photos were taken last christmas 2010.
when i made this layout, i wish next month is december ;) i miss the feeling of christmas time :)

christmas decorations remind me of ribbons, glitters, tiny star lamps.. and i wished to decorate my page in the same way ;)

i punched the kraft paper and stitch the ribbon to frame the photos.. i took pics of the process in case some of you want to try this.. easy peasy.. just need a little bit of patience here..

supplies used:

- background : red - american craft, kraft - scenic route
- ribbons : my personal stash collection bought from any craft store, the one in the tag - american craft, red chipboard - maya road (painted in red with versa mark), yellow embellishment - prima marketing
- title : letters - thicker, green matte (and horizontal strip) - scenic route, red matte - doodle bug, heart - basic grey, chipboard green frame - american craft
- flowers patterned paper - basic grey
- 2 small flowers - prima marketing

hi there :) finally finally..
after a busy month preparing for exam, moving out to a new room and a vacation to bali (which is not long enough!!).. i was happily indulged myself and made a layout based on a sketch for Crate Sketch Challenge May 2011 Edition :)

patterned paper (vertical small photos background - domino & pink background horizontal): crate paper restoration
strip stickers (blue & yellow): crate paper restoration
journaling tag & "mucilage" element: crate paper toy box

5 scattered square elements: square base - crate paper emma's shoppe + flowers - basic grey (i guess)

let me share 2 photos of the details:

05 April 2011

a rabbit year LO

hi all, i think this will be my last LO, until i finished my exam.. hopefully i can bear with this and keep my hands away from my scrapbook stash, please...

i love the process of making this LO so much. the colors are so my type and the fun look make me happy! I'm glad that I can scrap this "happy photos" into a happy LO :) the toughest part is to decide the "title". finally, as these look like "spring" photos, but there is no spring here in tropical countries like singapore, where I reside now, neither in indonesia, my beloved home country, I used "spring?" as my title. those puff stickers from ki memories are super cute, i feel like biting them ;) i'm glad that i can used them on my page, and not just hoarding them away.

i made this based on below sketch from page maps:
Image

journaling reads:
there's no spring in singapore, it was sentosa flower that bring flowers to sg every year. as 2011 is a rabbit year in chinese calendar, there were also many rabbits every where. 6 feb 2011.

the supplies used for this project are listed below:
- patterned paper : american craft - hello sunshine
- patterned paper : echo park (flowers rectangular elements & journaling spot) & yellow scalloped line
- patterned paper (photo mats) : studio calico (yellow), ki memories (green), jillibean (strips for main photo)
- puff stickers : ki memories
- cardstock : sei (dotted pink)
- pen : zig 0.3
- letters : american craft (thickers)

thanks for dropping by. hopefully you can be inspired by at least a bit ;)

take care all and God bless you..

02 April 2011

a lily bee design LO..

hi all..
my exam is coming in a month and i still have not get any mood to study.. i keep on making more n more LOs instead.. hahahaha..
i think this will be one of my last LOs  before i really hibernate from scrapbooking for a while..

i made this LO for a sketch challenge in lily bee design blog:

and tadaaa... this is my LO:

supplies:
- cardstock - american craft (white)
- patterned paper - lily bee design - hello sunshine

- patterned paper - lily bee design - happily lost (good book & stroll)
- rub ons - lily bee design
- crochet doilies - a RAK gift from sweet talented wendy kwok

my first time to scrap photo of myself, alone.. hehehe.. i used to feel worried to do that.. as i usually only scrap moments & memories, so i can remember and preserve it. and definitely, i will always remember "me", so, i used to think that scrapping my own photo is a waste of time.. hahahaha... =)

i'm glad that i get myself that set of rub-ons when i drop by piradee's yardsale a few weeks back.. though the colors are not really my type, i love the words & phrases so much!!

i used 2 patterned papers from happily lost collection. now i know why they name it that way, as i was totally lost happily in those happy colorssss :) as my photos have rose on it, this flowery paper from hello sunshine collection matched nicely..

i want to try something new, and punched the bottom part of the paper with doily lace punch from martha stewart. my first time using this punch, and i totally loved it!! as i wanted to make this LO simple, i left some space blank and just spray some glimmer mist into it with my 2 favorite colors, scarlet & sunflower!

it's always nice to scrap with a different style from what i always do.. but it is even nicer if i can pass my exam this coming may.. hehehe..

thanks for dropping by peeps :) i'm really glad & totally blessed when i read sweet comments from sweet people like you all :)  hopefully, u can be inspired in some ways..

take care all, have a nice weekend & God bless!

29 March 2011

project 12 - february 2011 photos :)

the "love theme" of february have inspired me to have pink as my main color in this LO :)

and here is the sketch:

yes, i have 2 photos more than what the sketch has... but i made this double page in 8.5"x12" size. that's just an excuse to include more pics ;)
i'm happy, i can start filling up my first album ever. that's what happened if i bought something only for the sake of getting a cheaper price... i promptly order from martha stewart online as i heard that my friend will transit in SG from US.. that time, i had no 1 finished LO at all.. ;)

23 March 2011

8 is enough!

i came across this "8 is enough" way of scrapbooking in ella publishing blog, it was quite sometime, and finally i managed to do this :) it is on how we actually can scrapbook at least 4 LOs with using 8 supplies :) (not including the cardstock, scissors, glue and other basic ones)
i always busy picking this and that, here and there, when i scrapbook and will leave my room looks like there is a "crashed aeroplane" in it :) hehe.. actually, this is a term in bahasa indonesia when something is so messy: "kapal pecah!" (aka. direct translated as crashed aeroplane)
it's true, the toughest part is the selection of those 8 supplies.

but on the other side, the limitation of supplies really can make me think out of the box, and do crative ways of using these supplies.

when choosing the supplies, i tried to pick those with same range of colors (well, in my opinion, all bright colors are in the same range).
i also tried to pick ones with variety of "patterns", 2 papers with strips designs (OA & LYB) and 1 elements from CC. lucky, i still have this set of alpha sticker from K&Co, as they have 2 colors. to add accents for my LOs, I chose sunflower glimmer mist.

here is the complete list of supplies I used (from left to rigt as shown in the picture):
- patterned paper: Studio Calico
- patterned paper: Little Yellow Bicycle
- patterned paper: October Afternoon
- patterned paper: Pink Paislee
- patterned paper: CosmoCricket
- sticker: SassafrasLas
- letter sticker: K&Company
- glimmer mist: TA - Sunflower

and finally i made these 4 LOs :)
i love this pink paislee pp so much, the laces are so beautiful.. i used element from cosmo cricket pp as my title and my journaling base.

i used the banner sticker from SFL in this LO, as flags and as a separation line. the LYB pp is just so nice, love the colors so much, and as i want to keep the design, i used a big "block" of this pp for more 50% of this LO's area.

overall, I love this "happy times LO" most, the one with most combination of supplies here & there.

i made 2 flowers from SFL sticker as embellishments. and spray a little bit here & there.

finally, I have to say that I must limit my supplies of scrapbooking as often as possible, and start to use my hoarded stashes :)

thank you for dropping by. i really appreciate it! :) i really do :)
hopefully you can be inspired in some ways..

God bless you!

22 March 2011

a simple jillibean LO :)

i never imagined that i can make an LO this fast! :) less than 1 hour, when usually it will take me daysss to finish... =p

when i browsed through my stash, i felt so lucky and so surprised in the same time. how could i only hoarding these beautiful papers and stickers without doing anything to them.. well, i also realised that i still have lots of other hoarded beautiful stashes. >>> homeworkkk :) a pleasant homework.. i wish i could have more time to do thisss.. hahahaha.. despite of my class & my office stuffs.. hehe..

these 2 pics were taken on my last year's bali trip. i plan to make a mini book of that trip, and really wish that this can be finished before my next trip to bali this coming may!! :) oooo, i can't wait to go there... need to exercise more..

thanks for dropping by! i wish i can inspire u in some ways, even if it's just a minor one ;)

God bless you!
